QUETTA: According to a letter written by the Balochistan NADRA director general (DG), leaders of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) in Balochistan are interfering in its verification process for making identity cards.
According to the letter they had ordered the NADRA staff not to obey the rules in verification. It has stopped the verification process for identity cards in Balochistan. The letter was written on May 23, 2016, but the federal government has not taken any action.
Under instructions from Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali, the verification process of identity cards has started in the whole country. According to the interior ministry, over 29,000 passports have been blacklisted and over 12,000 national identity cards cancelled in the last three years.
The letter to the NADRA chairman stated that many members of the Balochistan Assembly, including Dr Hamid Khan Achakzai, Abdur Raheem Ziaratwal, Majeed Khan Achakzai, Liaqat Agha and Nasrullah, were hindering the process of verifications.
