osophy to both pull certain chemicals from its beauty shelv
es and make transparent ingredient lists available for consumers.
Target’s beauty department is a modern marvel. And it’s about to get even better, because the megastore just announced a new sustainability strategy that will change the way its entire value chain and operations work from top to
bottom before it trickles down to every product they sell.
“We believe everyone should have access to better-for-you products and our comprehensive strategy is designed to give our guests and their families greater peace of mind and confidence
in their purchases,” Jennifer Silberman, Target’s chief sustainability officer, said in an interview.
The awesome news is that major companies are taking charge of overhauling their beauty products whether or not the government makes them; Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, Revlon, L’Oréal, Estée Lauder and Unilever are all b
acking the idea.
